Central Coachways 2159, Miller Street Garage, Birmingham, 1997

            Central Coachways was the private hire arm of West Midlands Travel. At the time of this photograpgh, the Central Coachways operation had been moved to the company's Miller Street garage in Newton, Birmingham. 

A former tramway depot, Miller street was one of the older garages on the system, and didn't offer up to date facilities, which is illustrated here. Today, the garage is still owned and operated by the company, but used for engineering and office space. Part of the property is let out for commercial use.

Taking a cold 'January' shower in Miller Street's outdoor bus wash, Metrobus 2159 was one of a number of Metrobuses transferred into the Central Coachways fleet for private hire use and contract work in the late '90s.
