I love Allyson's backbend in this photo which follows a backwards-moving choreographic phrase. Her backbend appears so effortless. She appears to be still softening which I love. Also, she is energized from fingertips to beautiful front tendu foot.  Karina is "blocking her backward path" as Meilin and Sofie approach from Stage Right, which is the audience's left, just as it appears to you, the viewer of the photo. Dora, as you can see, will enter soon from Upstage Left, which is to the right in the photo.   Somehow, the picture captures the energy and movement of the moment.  It is the dancing of the skirts!

The dancers are, from left to right, Meilin, Sofie, Alison, Karina, and Dora.
