            Some suggest that this was a "Steve" aurora-type structure that have been seen more frequently.  Perhaps.  It could also be that digital cameras are more light sensitive and are catching micro structure of the aurora that has been missed in the past.  In any event, every aurora sighting yields beauty and mystery.
