317508 Bethnal Green 3.10.17 - a photo on Flickriver

            Greater Anglia class 317, 317508 at Bethnal Green on October 3rd 2017. 2H15 0800 Ely-Liverpool St. This unit was hauled by 37800 to Sims Metals, Newport for scrapping on 8th March 2023.

Class 317 BR built. 317301-317348, 48 4-car units built 1981-1982 for the Bedford-St Pancras (Bedpan) electrification scheme. 
317349-317372 24 4-car units built 1985-1987 for outer suburban services out of Kings Cross. 
In their lifetime, both fleets underwent various refurbishments and numberings and worked one a number of different services, Thameslink, Stanstead Airport, LTS, London Overground and other services out of Liverpool St etc.
All withdrawn from service by the end of July 2022 and scrapped with the exception of 77092 and 71621 from unit 317345 that have been preserved.
