Churchyard view - a photo on Flickriver

Churchyard view

I'd ventured out to Wetheral to photograph a steam railtour with a view to using a new (to me) location at Wetheral parish church. The steam special ran an hour or so late by which point the light had moved too far around for the shot to really work. it was also diesel headed due to an AWS failure.

Anyway I thought the practice shot with a Northern class 156 sprinter unit worked rather better with the white and blue livery showing up quite well in the sunny conditions. 156465 works the 1N65 1440 Newcastle to Carlisle as it crossed the River Eden on the 1830's built viaduct.
