Let's go round again - a photo on Flickriver

            To mark the final HST operations on the east coast mainline, LNER arranged for a set to be fully repainted in original livery for four days of railtours around the east coast mainline.

Days 1 and 2 were on Scottish routes taking the set up through the east coast of Scotland to Aberdeen and Inverness and then south via the Highland mainline.

The third day was a trip from Edinburgh to Leeds. the forecast wasn't exactly promising with cloud and rain predicted but in the end it wasn't too bad in Northumberland in the morning.

Running to time as it passes Newham bog, north of Chathill, 43006 and 43112 power the 1Z48 09:37 Edinburgh Waverley to Leeds on their way south.

The final leg of the tour runs from Leeds to Kings Cross tomorrow (Saturday 21st) and is bound to attract attention as the curtain falls on the 41 years career of the HST's on frontline ECML service.
