            La Galerie de Peinture est le cœur du musée Condé. Elle constitue un témoignage exceptionnel de la muséographie du XIXe siècle : les tableaux sont présentés sur plusieurs niveaux, cadre à cadre, en fonction des formats, sans logique chronologique. Au total, près de 85 peintures comme Le Massacre des Innocents de Nicolas Poussin ou encore Le Portrait du Cardinal de Richelieu par Philippe de Champaigne y sont disposés selon le goût personnel du duc d’Aumale. À l’extrémité de la galerie se trouve la Rotonde qui présente les chefs-d’œuvre de la Renaissance italienne, dont la Simonetta Vespucci de Piero di Cosimo et La Madone de Lorette de Raphaël.
