Santiga a inicis del segle XX / Catalan hamlet of Santiga a century ago

El poblet de Santiga fotografiat, suposo, pel meu avi cap als anys vint o trenta del segle XX. De fet podríeu fer la mateixa foto pràcticament igual avui en dia.

Sembla que la càmera emprada per a fer aquesta foto fou una Ihagee Patent Duplex 720, fabricada cap al 1925. Encara està en posessió de la família.

This is a very small hamlet near Sabadell, a very usual weekend trip in the XX Century. I supose that was my grandfather who took this picture, the original being in a glass plate.

Santiga, although surrounded by ugly industrial areas, has survived as an idylic agricultural island. You could take today this very picture and would look the same in colour. The church has roman origins, and indeed the name Santiga (from "s'antiga" in catalan) means The Old One.

It looks that the camera used by my grandfather to take this picture is an Ihagee Patent Duplex 720 (9x12), made c.1925, still owned by our family.
