Rupit és sense dubte un dels pobles més bonics i iconics de tot Catalunya, un autentic pessebre en escala 1:1.

Aquesta és la església barroca de St. Miquel de Rupit. El més curiós és que no fou la parroquia de Rupit fins el 1878, gairebé al s. XX. La parroquia era la llunyana i aillada església de St. Joan de Fabregues, a uns km del poble. Encara més curios es que el propi municipi de Rupit (que no el poble en sí) tenia el nom oficial de St. Joan de Fabregues... fins el 1955!

Rupit is one of the most beautiful villages in all Catalonia. In some ways it could be said that it's the perfect iconic image of rural Catalonia, and as such it has been used as a model or prop for hundreds of "pessebres" or nativity scenes, quite a tradition in Catalonia (some of which are true large dioramas that took a year to make).

This is the baroque church of St. Miquel de Rupit, oddly enough a subsidiary of a rural, lonely parish till 1878, even as the village existed since the XI Century.
