Movent tot el frontal de la càmera cap a la esquerra, permet emprar un sol objectiu, però fer imatges panoràmiques, en comptes de stereo.

Aquesta Gaumont Stéréo Spido és la meva primera càmera stereo. Aquest tipus de càmeres son una familia molt especial, que varen estar força de moda en dos moments de la historia, entorn inicis del s. XX i cap als anys 50 i 60.

La Gaumont Stéréo Spido és la variant stereo de la ja anterior Gaumont Spido, càmera francesa de plaques i obturador central. Diverses variants d'aquesta càmera es fabricaren des del 1900 fins als anys 30. Aquesta en concret és la versió metal·lica dels anys 20, en format 6x13. De moment no puc concretar més la data de fabricació. Compta amb un obturador doble Decaux i dos objectius SOM Berthiot Perigraphe f6.8 / 85mm.

Mecanicament funciona molt bé, tot i que el vidre esmeril·lat d'enfoc es va trencar (espero poder-ne fabricar un substitut). Pot disparar tant plaques individuals com carregadors metal·lics per a 12 plaques de 6x13, o bé carregadors de pel·licula de 15 fulls. Teoricament semblaria que pot fer servir "retalls" de format 120, però cal escurçar-los una mica perque hi capiguen. M'ha anat millor retallant en 3 fragments un full de 13x18.

Més complicat ha estat veure com emprar les velocitats i les apertures de diafragma, sobretot sense trobar cap manual. Les velocitats les vaig calcular amb una cel·lula fotoelectrica i arriben de 1/10 fins a 1/100, amb retard pneumatic. Les apertures de diafragma estan indicades de manera obsoleta, segons el Congrés de Paris, amb el que 1 = f10. Per tant, quant indica al objectiu 0'46, 1, 2, 4, 8, entenc que vol dir f6,8, f10, f14, f18 i f25, aproximadament.

En resum, la he provat amb pel·licula i molt més o menys funciona però encara no puc mostrar resultats decents.

The Gaumont Stéréo Spido (aka Stéréospido) is the stereo variant of the previous Gaumont Spido, a French plate camera. Several variants of the Spido were manufactured from 1900 until the 30s. It can shoot both individual plates and metal magazines for 12 plates in 6x13 cm size, or 15 film sheets of the same size. More complicated has been to see how to use diaphragm speeds and apertures, especially without finding any manual. I calculated the speeds with a photoelectric cell and they came from 1/10 to 1/100, with pneumatic delay. The diaphragm apertures are indicated in an obsolete way, according to the Paris Congress, with which 1 = f10. Therefore, as indicated by the lens as 0'46, 1, 2, 4, 8, I understand that it means f6.8, f10, f14, f18 and f25, approximately.

In summary, I've tried it with some film, and it works more or less but I still can not show decent results.
