Una historia en retalls / Patched history

Això és una "gun camera" de la Segona Guerra Mundial. És a dir, una camera de cinema, de 16mm, colocada a l'ala d'un avió de combat, i emprada per enregistrar els combats. El seu resultat son les famoses imatges de combats aeris i atacs a objectius terrestres que tots hem vist.

En concret, es tracta d'una Fairchild AN-N6, que provablement fou montada en un caça de la USAAF durant i després de la Segona Guerra Mundial. A la placa identificadora menciona un nº de serie iniciat per 44, el que "probablement" indica que fou fabricada el 1944. Igualment, un segell tipus control/revisió porta la data 4-1-59, el que potser implica que el 1 d'abril del 1959 encara estava en servei. Finalment, fent joc a un considerable bony a la part posterior, un troç d'esparadrap porta la expresiva indicació "Good?". La meva hipotesi es que la càmera va rebre un fort cop despres del 1959, que feu que es considerés defectuosa, acabant el seu servei.

L'objectiu és un Kodak Anastigmat f3,5 de 35mm.

This is a "gun camera" of World War II. That is, a 16mm movie camera, placed on the wing of a fighter or ground attack plane, and used to record the fighting. Its result are the famous images of air combat and attacks on terrestrial targets that we have all seen.

In particular, this is a Fairchild AN-N6, which was probably mounted on a USAAF fighter (Mustang?, Thunderbolt?) during and after World War II. The identifying plate mentions a serial number initiated by 44, which "probably" indicates that it was manufactured in 1944. Likewise, a control / revision seal bears the date 4-1-59, which may mean that April 1st, 1959 it was still in service. Finally a piece of adhesive tape has the express indication "Good?". My hypothesis is that the camera received a strong blow after 1959, which caused it to be considered defective, ending its service. There's a large dent in the back to indicate this.

The objective is a Kodak Anastigmat f3.5 of 35mm.
