The Citadel, Carlisle, in 3D - a photo on Flickriver

            The Citadel served as both a fortification and a place of city administration.  It was built on the foundation of the southernmost extent of the city's medieval stone walls, which in turn had been built on the ruins of Roman walls made of timber and earth.  The Citadel is relatively new. It was constructed during the Regency Period in the early 1800s.  A glimpse of Carlisle's train station can be seen in the background.

To see the image in 3D, sit squarely in front of the two photos, cross your eyes until the two images become three.  Concentrate on the "middle" image.  It can help to focus on a specific object such as a person or flower.  Adjust your focus back and forth and it should pop into view as 3D.
