Defending the Estuary - a photo on Flickriver

            This wide view of the Portmeirion Quayside shows a sliver of the Dwyryd Estuary, which is quite expansive.  This day was mostly cloudy but the sun would peek through at times. 

The cannon visible here is entirely decorative although I find it curious that it is wired onto its base to prevent people from attempting to rotating it up and down.  

In the 1960s TV series, The Prisoner, the "Old People's Home" was just to the left.  In reality it's one of the hotels in the actual village.
