The Doorways of Caernarfon - a photo on Flickriver

            Like the previous poster collection I made of the doorways of Hay-on-Wye, I collected the individual images for this poster on a gray, overcast day.  Although such days are challenging for photographing landscapes, they offer a good opportunity for capturing doorways.  The scattered, indirect light helps soften the shadows of entryways sheltered by lintels or pediments.

I began with 44 doorway photos, editing each for light levels.  I cropped each one to the same aspect ratio and corrected images that were skewed.  I selected 36 photos for this poster.
