GREAT GREY SHRIKE // LANIUS EXCUBITOR (22-26cm)

            A LIFER FOR ME, this bulky and impressive passerine. The Great Grey Shrike has predatory feeding habits, as you might guess from its powerful hook-tipped bill. It spends much of the time perched on the tops of bushes . My thanks go to Nick Smith, for the location at St Margaret's  bay near Dover Kent.
