I watched the Disney Beauty and the Beast live action film at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood today. I lined up outside the theatre at 10 am for the 10:45 showing. I was let in at 10:30 after going through metal detectors, and I went downstairs to view the props from the movie. They had the costumes for the ballroom scene for Belle and Beast and the costumes for human Cogsworth and Lumiere (as well props of their enchanted forms). Upstairs they had the enchanted rose prop, with the bell jar made by Swarovski. I took my seat at around 10:40. The house organist was playing Disney tunes continuously. Their was a stage curtain made of strings of Swarovski crystals, that were lit up by lasers, making for a multi-color sparkly display. We had to wait until 11 am for the show to actually start, due to bad traffic in the LA area. After some movie previews, we had a laser projection show created specifically for the Beauty and the Beast at the El Capitan, which culminated with a confetti shower of red crepe paper rose petals. Then Le Fou and Gaston welcomed us to the viewing at the El Capitan in a cute promo.

I enjoyed the movie very much, as did the audience. Fortunately the children in the audience were very well behaved. I kept some souvenirs from the movie: a rose petal confetti, the popcorn bucket with the movie logo, and a fold out movie promo card in the form of an invitation.
