Red Jasmine Welcomed By Snow White - Limited Edition Disney Store 17'' Dolls - Personal Collection - Portrait Front View

            Snow White (2009), the first Disney Store Limited Edition 17'' Doll, welcomes Red Jasmine (2015), the latest doll in the series.  I am very impressed by the quality of Jasmines design, of her outfit and accessories.  They are both look like royalty.  Snow White I bought in 2011, second hand but in mint condition in her original unopened box.  She is #250 of 5000.  Jasmine is a D23 Expo 2015 Exclusive, who I bought first hand.  She is #226 of 500.  They are both supported by Disney Store LE doll stands.  Jasmine is a bit shorter than Snow White because her legs are apart and slightly bent in order for her to balanced with her massive head of hair.  She is also wearing flats, and has articulated ankles, so it standing flat footed.  Snow White, like all the 17'' LE dolls until Wedding Rapunzel in 2012, has fixed angled feet, and is wearing high heeled shoes.  Jasmine has the deepest skin color of any LE 17'' DS doll so far, except for Tiana.  Snow White has the palest skin of any LE 17'' doll except for the Elsa dolls.

I purchased the D23 Exclusive Limited Edition Red Jasmine 17'' Doll on her release day, Saturday August 15, 2015, from the Disney Store in the D23 Expo 2015.  She is a red colored and enhanced variant of the LE 5000 Teal Jasmine, which I pre-ordered on August 4, 2015, and will be released on October 13, 2015.  Red Jasmine is LE 500, and costs $119.95.  She is such a beautiful doll, and is by far my favorite item from the Expo. She is on my desk right now, so I can admire her beauty up close as I work on my computer.

Her hair is massive and very heavy. It is permanently styled into a fancy puffy pony tail, the bottom third of which is heavily gelled to keep its curl. The upper two thirds are nice and soft. The weight of her hair make her tilt to the back and to her right, unless she is carefully posed and balanced in her stand. I didn't like the way the stand was placed behind her skirt, severely crimping it in the back. Fortunately, the slit at the waist of the skirt/pants combo was large enough to place the top of the display stand through it, so the post is inside of her skirt, instead of behind it.

One aspect of Jasmine that wasn't apparent to me when she was still boxed, is the distinct golden tone of her torso. Her head and arms have a more normal pinkish tan color. It's almost as if she got the Goldfinger treatment on her torso, both front and back. By the way, her painted on panties are gold colored, and not red as you might have guessed. 

I'm don't know if all the Red Jasmine dolls have the same golden tint, but I don't mind it too much. It gives her an otherworldly aura, and in my mind doesn't detract from the beauty of her face and outfit and jewelry.
