Love-In-A-Mist - Nigella damascena - a photo on Flickriver

            I for one think this flower looks its most beautiful when the flower has died and the dried seed head remains. Native to southern Europe, northern Africa and the south-west of Asia, and belongs to the buttercup family and will usually bloom from early Summer to Autumn and then will self-seed and grow in the same spot year after year. The name 'love-in-a- mist comes from the flower being nestled in a ring of multifid, lacy bracts.
