someone I used to know... - a photo on Flickriver

            Twilight at a long abandoned northern Illinois farmhouse this past winter. This house was last lived in in the mid '70's and is still full of the owners personal belongings. Strange as it may sound,the farm it sits on is still worked by her sons. The farm buildings around it are in equally bad condition. 

The house is more like a mansion complete with servants stairs and quarters. It contains some really great architectural features both inside and outside. The staircase is amazing, the kitchen gigantic with one of the biggest vintage gas stoves I've ever seen. I would have loved to see this place in the '50s and '60s when it was a living tribute to a hard working and successful farm family....
