The long abandoned Hart's Mansion lies in ruins in Eastern Iowa. Hart was a wealthy mill owner and farmer. The stone for the construction of this mansion was hauled by horseback 30 miles in the mid 1850's.The place was severely damaged by a nearby chemical plant explosion in the 1980's and never recovered.

One of my first shots of this grand old mansion many years ago with the porch still attached...
