ROSA CENTIFOLIA MUSCOSA

Non si riescono nemmeno a catalogare le varietà di rose al mondo, per l'enorme quantità tra ibride o botaniche selvatiche ed anche le antiche inglesi o rampicanti ed anche le moderne varietà dovute ad innesti forse fin troppo azzardati.
Questa che rappresento è la rosa Centifolia Muscosa, una Centifolia profumatissima che si diffuse moltissimo in epoca vittoriana. È stata rappresentata in molte opere pittoriche. I fiori sono color rosa medio, stradoppi. La pianta ha la caratteristica di avere boccioli, sepali, calici e peduncoli ricoperti da una sorta di “muschio” profumato e leggermente appiccicoso al tatto. Fiorisce una volta sola all’anno.

CENTIFOLIA MUSCOSA ROSE

It's impossible to even catalog the world's rose varieties, given the enormous number of hybrids and wild plants, as well as old English and climbing varieties, and even modern varieties resulting from perhaps overly risky grafting.
This rose I'm representing is the Centifolia Muscosa, a highly fragrant Centifolia that became widespread in the Victorian era. It has been depicted in numerous paintings. The flowers are medium pink and very double. The plant's buds, sepals, calyxes, and peduncles are covered in a sort of fragrant "moss" that is slightly sticky to the touch. It blooms only once a year.
