ORCHIDEA ROSA

L’orchidea rosa è una delle più amate piante ornamentali. È delicata, esotica e molto aggraziata. In Cina sono perfino diventate emblema di integrità, eleganza e amicizia. Le orchidee rosa sono simbolo di felicità, gioia, grazia, innocenza e fertilità. È il fiore perfetto per festeggiare le mamme in attesa, i neonati e le famiglie in crescita. Anche la gentilezza, giocosità e romanticismo sono significati comuni dei fiori rosa.
Lo sapevi che le orchidee devono il loro nome alla parola greca “orkhis” che si traduce letteralmente come “testicolo”. Ovviamente per questione di pudore il fatto viene spesso omesso. Ma se andiamo a fondo, scopriamo che il filosofo greco Teofrasto diede proprio nome alla pianta analizzando il suo tubero, non si riferiva affatto all’aspetto del fiore. Da qui le orchidee sono state associate alla fertilità, alla virilità e alla sessualità.

PINK ORCHID

Did you know that orchids owe their name to the Greek word “orkhis” which literally translates as “testicle”. Obviously for reasons of modesty this fact is often omitted. But if we dig deeper, we discover that the Greek philosopher Theophrastus gave the plant its name by analyzing its tuber, he was not referring to the appearance of the flower at all. From here orchids have been associated with fertility, virility and sexuality.
