L’ibisco appartiene alla Famiglia delle Malvacee, la stessa a cui appartengono la malva, la pianta del cotone (Gossypium) e il tiglio.
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis è il nome dell’ibisco da fiore o ibisco cinese. Esistono altre specie di Hibiscus, come l’Hibiscus syriacus (ibisco di Siria, pianta da terrazzo e giardino), Hibiscus sabdariffa da cui si ottiene la bevanda karkadé e Hibiscus esculentus che produce frutti usati nella cucina africana e tropicale, noti come gombo o okra.

HIBISCUS HEART

Hibiscus belongs to the Malvaceae family, the same family that includes mallow, cotton (Gossypium) and lime.
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is the name of flowering hibiscus or Chinese hibiscus. There are other species of Hibiscus, such as Hibiscus syriacus (Syrian hibiscus, a terrace and garden plant), Hibiscus sabdariffa from which the karkadé drink is obtained and Hibiscus esculentus which produces fruits used in African and tropical cuisine, known as gombo or okra.
