Il Museo del Louvre, riconoscibile dalla piramide di vetro all'esterno, è uno dei musei più famosi al mondo. Tra le tante opere custodisce la Gioconda e la Venere di Milo. 
L’accesso principale del museo del Louvre si trova all’interno della magnifica piramide di vetro alta 122 metri, un vero capolavoro di architettura moderna inserita in un contesto antico. Voluta dal ex Presidente della Repubblica Francese François Mitterand nel 1981, la piramide venne progettata dall’architetto sino-americano Ieoh Ming Pei e fu subito investita da una pioggia di critiche: la geometria glaciale della piramide avrebbe rovinato il contesto storico e architettonico della Parigi napoleonica, con un accostamento forzato e privo di eleganza. Dopo venti anni di lavoro e un investimento di un miliardo di euro, la Piramide del Louvre si è rivelata una scelta vincente, che nel tempo ha conquistato anche i suoi detrattori, come già successo per il caso della Torre Eiffel. Le critiche hanno infine lasciato il posto a teorie più azzardate sul significato del monumento e le sue ipotetiche relazioni con il mondo massonico ed esoterico.

THE PYRAMID IN LOW SEASON

The Louvre Museum, recognizable by the glass pyramid on the outside, is one of the most famous museums in the world. Among the many works it houses the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo.
The main entrance to the Louvre museum is located inside the magnificent 122-meter high glass pyramid, a true masterpiece of modern architecture set in an ancient context. Commissioned by the former President of the French Republic François Mitterand in 1981, the pyramid was designed by the Sino-American architect Ieoh Ming Pei and was immediately hit by a shower of criticism: the glacial geometry of the pyramid would have ruined the historical and architectural context of Napoleonic Paris , with a forced and lacking in elegance combination. After twenty years of work and an investment of one billion euros, the Louvre Pyramid has proved to be a winning choice, which over time has also won over its detractors, as has already happened in the case of the Eiffel Tower. The criticisms have finally given way to more risky theories on the meaning of the monument and its hypothetical relations with the Masonic and esoteric world.
