L’agricoltura marchigiana rappresenta una delle attività prevalenti della regione che si sta rapidamente adeguando alle moderne tecnologie di coltivazione. Il lavoro agricolo si concentra nelle conche, sugli altipiani appenninici, ma soprattutto nelle ampie vallate scavate dai fiumi dove sfrutta un terreno abbastanza fertile per produrre cereali (orzo, frumento), barbabietole da zucchero, ortaggi e tanti girasoli. La coltivazione dell'uva è abbastanza limitata, ma dà vita a vini di grande qualità, come il Verdicchio di Jesi e di Matelica, il Rosso Conero, il Rosso Piceno e la Vernaccia di Serrapetrona. Inoltre, importante è la raccolta del tartufo, una pregiata radice aromatica presente soprattutto nella zona settentrionale delle Marche.

FARM LOST IN THE HILLS

Agriculture in the Marche region is one of the prevailing activities of the region which is rapidly adapting to modern cultivation technologies. Agricultural work is concentrated in the basins, on the Apennine plateaus, but above all in the wide valleys carved by the rivers where it exploits a sufficiently fertile soil to produce cereals (barley, wheat), sugar beets, vegetables and many sunflowers. The cultivation of grapes is quite limited, but gives life to wines of great quality, such as Verdicchio di Jesi and Matelica, Rosso Conero, Rosso Piceno and Vernaccia di Serrapetrona. Furthermore, the collection of truffles is important, a precious aromatic root present above all in the northern area of the Marche.
