SPILIMBERGO. IL FOGOLAR - a photo on Flickriver

            UN PO' DI CALORE IN QUESTE FREDDE SERATE DI DICEMBRE.

Il focolare, che nella tradizione friulana ha il significato di riunire l’intera famiglia intorno al fuoco, era rappresentato dal fogolar, questo antico protagonista delle case friulane che spesso tendeva ad affumicare le stanze attigue. Lì si trascorreva il tempo assieme  per ritrovarsi in un momento di condivisione: mangiare, tramandarsi narrazioni, storie, come nella cultura tradizionale dove prevale la trasmissione orale.
I Fogolârs Furlan riprendono non solo il nome dal focolare, ma anche la sua funzione aggregativa: queste, infatti, sparse in tutto il mondo con 183 sedi, riuniscono i frilulani emigrati all’estero che, tramite queste iniziative, possono ritrovarsi e rivivere certi momenti, usi e tradizioni del Friuli per non perdere il legame con la propria terra.

The hearth, which in the Friulian tradition has the meaning of bringing the whole family together around the fire, was represented by the fogolar, this ancient protagonist of the Friulian houses that often tended to smoke the adjacent rooms. There we spent time together to find ourselves in a moment of sharing: eating, passing on narratives, stories, as in traditional culture where oral transmission prevails.
The Fogolârs Furlan take up not only the name from the hearth, but also its aggregative function: these, in fact, scattered all over the world with 183 locations, bring together the Frilulans who emigrated abroad who, through these initiatives, can find each other and relive certain moments , customs and traditions of Friuli in order not to lose the link with their land.
