Banbury Lane signal box - 1 - a photo on Flickriver

Banbury Lane signal box, photographed on 12 October 1987. This box, which dated from 1878, was retained after all other WCML boxes between Bletchley and Rugby had closed, for operating the adjacent level crossing. It closed on 13 September 1988, when control of the crossing passed to Rugby power box. More details of this box can be found at this link:

The road diversion mentioned at this link has now taken place, and the crossing has been permanently closed. See my photo labelled "Banbury Lane signal box (3)".
