B12 at Sheringham - 1 - a photo on Flickriver

            Ex-LNER "B12" Class 4-6-0 no 8572 at Sheringham, on the North Norfolk Railway, on 4 September 1998.

8572 was one of 10 locos (numbered 8571-8580) built for the LNER by Beyer Peacock to add to the 71 "S69" Class locos built for the GER between 1911-1921. It was renumbered to 1572 in 1946 and became 61572 on nationalisation in 1948. It was the last survivor of what had become the B12 Class and was withdrawn from service in 1961 (although it was temporarily re-instated for railtour duties in 1963). 61572 moved to the North Norfolk Railway in 1967, but it was only after a very lengthy and involved restoration was it able to be steamed again in 1995.
