Sticks & Stems, Seeds & Chutes - a photo on Flickriver

            These silky little parachutes are designed by nature to float in the wind, as a way to widely disperse the tiny seeds that they carry. But on this day at this time, they just couldn't seem to break loose from the stem that had captured them, even with a breeze blowing briskly, left to right.
