Knole Park - Fallow Deer - a photo on Flickriver

            How many others like me ??????
After several months of poor quality pictures using my Canon 7D Mk 11 with a Canon 100-400 Zoom lens, (with and without 1.4 extender)  I visited our local Jessops with camera and lens.
Explained problem to assistant and confirmed no problems when using my 100mm macro and 25- 140 lens. He took some pictures in the Shopping Centre. From results (soft images) and concluded lens at fault. To shorten story I walked away with a 150-600 Tamron G2 lens.
I waited for some good weather and out I went full of good expectations. Sadly they were no better. 
Back to the shop, saw a different assistant and explained situation.
He also took images with the Tamron and agreed they were soft. Thankfully he checked the firmware number in the camera and the latest number on the Canon web site. My camera was not to the latest issue, he implied this might be the reason.
Went home and downloaded latest Firmware to my camera. Bingo...  images are now ok.
Sadly I had not registered my camera with Canon and therefore received no notification of updates. Unfortuately it also corrected my old lens as well  !!!!. so now have 2 telephoto lenses.
