Feather "flames", Advocate, Nova Scotia

            Found in the marsh behind the barrier beach, here's a feather that has blown onto a mass of tide-washed dead grass stalks. An image of the entire feather looked pretty good, but I like this partial view better. The feather must have been roughed up a bit by tumbling along the ground before it finally settled here. The shaft of the feather is just off the bottom of the image. Its other edge was intact... not broken up at all. I like this black & white version better than the original color image.
