Old tire, Advocate, Nova Scotia. - a photo on Flickriver

            Looking much like an old tire and rusty wheel photographed at Peggy's Cove years ago, I did NOT carry this all the way to Advocate, roll it along the beach and plant it snuggled up under these wild roses. This is strictly as-found. The image has been added to a collection of photos of old tires found in my travels around the Maritimes and elsewhere. 
The beach at Advocate collects all sorts of stuff that makes its way into the Gulf of Maine or the Bay of Fundy. Occasionally you encounter a tire and wheel half buried near the water, becoming uncovered only a low tide. This item had been cast ashore and driven up into the drift pile hear the top of the beach by a storm tide. The area showed no signs of being recently swept by any wave action... the rose bushes looking like quite a few seasons had passed since any salt water had swirled around them. It would be interesting to view a long video following this tire's  journey from the factory where it was made, the vehicle it was mounted on, where it traveled, and ultimately... how it came to be sitting here, in its final resting place. Taken 1/2 mile east of the "fish farm" (Cape d'Or Sustainable Seafoods), along the top of the barrier beach.
The original image was taken with a Nikon F3-HP, 50mm f1/4 lens, fitted with an Iscorama Anamorphic lens (1968 version), using Ektachrome 100 film. The slide was copied using a Nikon D3500 camera, 55mm f/3.5 Micro Nikkor lens fitted with a Nikon 4T closeup lens, with a Soligor 1.6x achromatic closeup lens on the 4T. Lighting was provided by a 5000K LED bulb in a desk lamp.
