The youngest moon I have seen - 22 hours, 12 March 2013

            Collateral damage from trying to see C/2011 L4 Panstarrs... New moon at 20.53 local time the day before, photo taken at about 19.00, giving me a 22 hour old moon! Pretty happy with that. 

The crescent moon was not  visible to the naked eye, but equally visible in both the 10x40 binoculars I was using to hunt for Comet Panstarrs and the camera viewfinder. 

Shot at an altitude of about 500m outside Athens with the old trusty 300mm f/4.5 Nikkor H on the front of the D3100, Post processing in GIMP.
