The Pink Hoose, Loch Glass, Rossshire

            The Pink Hoose (or house to be polite) is a real oddity.  It's way off the beaten track and nobody seems to know who it belongs to, when it was built and what it's for. It's mock Scottish Baronial in style, unoccupied and the windows are blacked out, but the closer you get to it then the more it becomes obvious that its construction is pretty modern.  It's a bit of a slog to get to, though the potholed road from Evanton is much worse, but it's definitely worth the hassle.
  (Certainly worth another visit in more appropriate conditions, whatever they are.)
