Moss akimbo!

            Posted more for general interest, I took these photos of 'dry-stone/dry-stane' walls near Gairlochy on the West Coast of Scotland. The annual rainfall here is impressive and much of the more densely forested areas (actually forming part of the few temperate rainforests in the UK) are covered in epiphytes like lichens and mosses of many different species. I had spotted these shortly before reaching Eas Chia-aig falls and made a note to stop and photograph the walls on the way back, as they are almost completely covered in mosses. Pretty dim lighting here too, owing to the foliage and the fact it was evening, so high ISO a bit of a must, as I didn't want to hang around setting up the tripod and offer the midges second-helpings after they had feasted on us a few miles down the road at the falls!
