Rooms....Chapman's Grocery - Mt. Enterprise, Texas

            Chapman's Grocery was built in 1946 when Highway 259 was constructed connecting Nacogdoches and Henderson,Texas. Originally Chapman's  had a cafe, rented out upstairs rooms to travelers, was a bus stop and sold groceries....now they just sell groceries and gas. Mr. Chapman was still alive when I took this picture. This shot is of the original screen door entrance that lead to the staircase and the upstairs rooms. The original neon "Rooms" sign is above the door.
