Old folks home... - a photo on Flickriver

Old folks home...

            I found this old place just north of the city limits of Trinidad,Colorado on US 160.I was curious about the materials used to construct this beauty,so I called my cousin who just happens to be a retired brick salesman and owned  his own brick company at one time. 

After looking at this pic, which I e-mailed to him, my cousin thought that the bricks were probably homemade, wood mold,dry pressed, split faced bricks. That might explain why the bricks aren't uniform in size.

He also said the wood used for the roof also appeared to be hand cut. Asked how old this place might be, he speculated it could be as old as the late 1890s or early 1900s.

I don't have any more info to go on....feel free to offer your opinions and knowledge.....I'd love to hear it.
