Gibson's Discount Center - Wichita Falls,Texas

            Gibson's Discount Center, was a large department store chain in the U.S. The store was founded by H.R. Gibson Sr. who opened his first Gibson's in Abilene,Texas in 1936. The Gibson's discount chain grew to more than 600 stores owned by the Gibson family and their franchises. At one point it was second in size to the S.S. Kresge Corporation which opened K-Mart in 1962.Only two Gibson's stores remain open. They are located in Kerrville and Weatherford,Texas. Wichita Falls,Texas. 10.22.2017.
