The Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford - a photo on Flickriver

             Not a new drawing but a reminder of a quietly tumultuous year for me, courtesy of Facebook. In 2016 I took retirement after nearly 35 years working on historic buildings. In late September I met up former colleagues and other members of the Vernacular Architecture Group for a conference at the Oxfrod University Scool of Continuing Education. As usual I took an early train so I could have time to look at Oxford rather than just attend the lectures and meals at the conference. I had an hour or so to tackle some urban sketching, settling onto a bench opposite the theatre.
