Roofs at King's Manor, York (WiP 2) - a photo on Flickriver

            The roofline of this part of the King's Manor is illustrative of the complex series of changes that the building has undergone. The main part of the structure seen here probably dates to the 17th century but there is a fragment of masonry that may be earlier. In the 19th century the building was altered to serve the National School for the Blind. Further alterations were undertaken in the 1960s when a new teaching block was added for the University of York, this area becoming the entry point for building materials after which it was rebuilt in the form seen today.  Further alterations were undertaken in the later 20th century to improve a lecture theatre on the first floor. Drawn with a Staedtler 0.3mm pencil and Tombow Mono zero eraser in an A4 cartridge paper sketchbook.
