When I went into school to listen to readers I was given an extra ten minutes, plus afternoon break, to stand at the doorway of the classroom next to where I read with the children. It is also the classroom where my sketching group is based. By the door is the small desk which the teacher uses to operate the computer, This is connected to the large display screen which dominates the end wall of the room, a big difference to the classroom I had as a boy, dominated by a blackboard and chalk dust. It was a little challenging standing to draw with a pocket size sketchbook, while also answering a stream of questions from fascinated pupils.
