Crotalaria es un género de fanerógamas con perteneciente a la familia Fabaceae. Comprende 1415 especies descritas y de estas, solo 698 aceptadas.
Género con distribución tropical y subtropical, con la mayor concentración de especies en el hemisferio sur, especialmente en África donde se encuentran 500 especies; 89 especies se conocen en América, 15 de ellas en Nicaragua.
豬屎豆屬（學名：Crotalaria)，或名野百合屬，是豆科蝶形花亞科下的一個屬，為一年生或多年生草本或亞灌木植物。該屬約有715種[1]，分佈於熱帶和亞熱帶地區。屬名Crotalaria源於希臘語klotalon，意為「隱響玩具」，指莢果膨脹，干後搖動有聲音。
Crotalaria is a genus of flowering plants in the family Fabaceae (subfamily Faboideae) commonly known as rattlepods. The genus includes over 700 species of herbaceous plants and shrubs. Africa is the continent with the majority of Crotalaria species (approximately 400 species), which are mainly found in damp grassland, especially in floodplains, depressions and along edges of swamps and rivers, but also in deciduous bush land, roadsides and fields. Some species of Crotalaria are grown as ornamentals. The common name rattlepod or rattlebox is derived from the fact that the seeds become loose in the pod as they mature, and rattle when the pod is shaken. The name derives from the Ancient Greek κρόταλον, meaning "castanet", and is the same root as the name for the rattlesnakes (Crotalus).
