The Old Life Boat Station * - a photo on Flickriver

            This life boat station at St Justinians in Pembrokeshire was decommissioned in 2016 when a new station opened alongside it. 

During 147 years of operation, it saved 360 lives from the sea which becomes even more noteworthy when you consider almost all of the crews were and still are volunteers. This is the same for all life boat stations in the United Kingdom – crews of men and women who, no matter what the weather and time of day, risk their lives to rescue those in distress at sea.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution {RNLI} is not directly funded by Government and most of their revenue comes from charitable donations.
