Happy Green Bird - Scaly-breasted Lorikeet

            I did not see as many of the Scaly-breasted Lorikeets as they really blend into the leaves in the trees. 
This little guy landed on the trunk of the tree and was much easier to see. He also seemed very happy to have his photograph taken.

We found this bird in Eagleby Wetlands. 

Other names this bird is known by include the gold and green lorikeet, greenie, green lorikeet, green and yellow lorikeet, green keet, green parrot, green leek, and green leaf. It is often colloquially referred to as a "scaly"
