Pinky Schooner Ardelle under Sail - a photo on Flickriver

            The Ardelle was side-launched at Essex, MA, in 2011.  She is a classic pinky fishing schooner design which features a high pointed stern. When used for fishing they had a slot in the stern where fish waste could be swept out.  The 58 ft. Ardelle was built by Harold Burham with a lot of recycled materials and volunteer help.  It sails out of Maritime Gloucester with up to 49 passengers who enjoy sailing on a classic gaff-rigged boat.  I took the cruise on a delightful sunny day which later became heavy fog.  The captain used the fog for extra humorous story entertainment.  We also got a great view of the Schooner Thomas E Lannon as she sailed with us for a time.
