Seed pod Iris foetidissima - a photo on Flickriver

            These brightly coloured seeds are much more noticeable than the earlier flowers which are a greyish purple in colour. Much smaller seeds than those of Tree Peony I put on earlier but a lot more of them in each pod which splits open into three to display a double row of seeds in each segment, up to about 50 in total.
