A Pond Frog's World - a photo on Flickriver

            Here’s a pond frog floating above its submerged world--its hunting ground. These frogs are carnivorous predators. They hunt and consume worms, snails and tiny arthropods. From this pond frog's point of view, it lives in a big, complicated space. Also, this brightly colored frog may well be poisonous. Oddly, poisonous frogs often advertise their toxicity by being brightly colored--as a warning to bigger predators. "Don't chomp on me!"

Location: Frog pond on Dattenlochweg, Riehen BS Switzerland.
