Mister Potato Heart - a photo on Flickriver

            HAPPY TUESDAY'S TEXTURES !! 
A nice texture contrast, I think, between the grain of the wood and Mister Potato Heart's lack of much texture. He does have a few scars and spots, though. 

Okay, here is the story: Yesterday, we boiled some special little skin-on potatoes for a Swiss winter food ritual called raclette. Mister Potato Heart was just there in the bowl when we sat down at the table. I took him outdoors and captured his picture in late-afternoon winter sun. He went back in the bowl and sat there for a long time. Finally, he was the last potato, and I ate him. 

FWIW - To do raclette, you melt a bit of special raclette cheese right at the table and spread it on a tiny, warm boiled potato. Then you eat it, grab another boiled potato, melt some more cheese and repeat. And repeat. Raclette is served with cornichons (little sweet pickles), little pickled onions, and sometimes bacon or ham fried at the table. Yum.
