Art & Artfulness

            I liked the painting, with its incorporated intricate face. Maybe the person who cut and piled the wood arranged the pile this way to compliment the painting. Whether arrangement was deliberate or not,  I liked the artful effect. Together, the painting and the pile illustrate two aspects of the charming hill village of Ötlingen. It is home to a  busy art community, and it is a place that still values traditional activity. In addition, Oetlingen is a center of viniculture, based on the village's substantial surounding vineyards. For visitors, there are a small number of charming restaurants. 

Nota Not-So-Bene - This image is not very good because it is based on a terrible set of exposure conditions (e.g. ISO 12800).  They were "achieved" by me accidentally disturbing the intended camera settings (small camera, big hands).

Location: Hill village of Ötlingen, part of the town of Weil-am-Rhein, Baden-Württemburg DE.
