Face to Face - a photo on Flickriver

Face to Face

            Coming face to face with a Great Blue Heron could be harrowing to some, but if you stand your ground they can be quite harmless. That being said, I did have a rather odd thought that crossed my mind, "What if he decides to poke me with that long bill of his?" I backed off slowly and let him do his thing which was watching me rather closely.
